What Claude training
actually costs.

The market for Claude training splits into four categories, and they charge very differently. Here is a plain table of what each format costs, what you get for it, and the questions worth asking before you hand over any money.

The price is not the same thing as the cost.

A $2,000 cohort that teaches you Claude in general terms costs more, in real terms, than six sessions on your specific work, because only one of them changes how you actually do your job. The table below is the honest version of the market, not a marketing comparison.

Format
Typical cost
What you get
Watch out for
Enterprise AI consultancy
$150 – $500+/hour
Advice about your problem. Usually project-scoped, assessment, implementation, governance, rather than skill transfer to your team.
You pay for their time, not for your team learning. When the engagement ends, the knowledge leaves with them.
Cohort bootcamp
$800 – $2,500 per programme
A fixed multi-week cohort course: shared syllabus, group sessions, sometimes office hours. One price covers the full programme whether or not you finish it.
Paced for the group, not for you. Refund windows typically close within 14 days, long before you know if the content fits your actual work.
Mentor marketplace
$50 – $200/month
A subscription to async access to a mentor: messages, occasional calls, code reviews. Broad subject range; few Claude specialists specifically.
Monthly billing continues whether or not you use it. Async feedback is slower than a live session and harder to direct at a specific problem.
Recorded course
Free – $500 one-off
A pre-recorded curriculum: video lessons, exercises, community access. Self-paced. Lowest barrier to entry in the category.
Recorded for no one in particular. No one answers your specific question, and the content cannot adapt to your stack, your workflow, or how far you already are.
1-to-1 live coachingBoffin Hub
$133 – $180 per session
A specialist working live on your actual files, your real workflow, your specific problem. Every minute is yours. Can start this week, not when a cohort fills.
Higher per-session cost than a course. Worth it when the thing you need to learn is applied to your own work, not worth it if you just want an overview of the tool.

Market ranges reflect published pricing across the category as of July 2026. We review this page quarterly. Category labels are used throughout, we do not name specific competitors in on-site comparisons, since pricing moves and the structural comparison holds either way.

Before you pay

Five questions
worth asking.

The cheapest option is rarely the cheapest, and the most expensive is rarely the most useful. These are the questions that actually separate good value from expensive disappointment.

Is the price per person or per cohort?

Cohort courses quote a flat programme fee. Make sure you're comparing per-person cost when the group is bigger than one.

Does the cost include 1-to-1 time?

Group sessions and office hours are not the same as dedicated attention on your specific work. Ask how many minutes of direct 1-to-1 contact are included.

What is the refund policy, and when does it close?

Many cohort refund windows close within 7 to 14 days, before you have enough of the course to know if it fits. Boffin Hub's First Session Promise applies to every single session, not just the first two weeks.

Does the training apply to your actual work?

General Claude training can show you what the tool does. Only training run against your own files, briefs, and workflow changes what you actually produce with it.

Can your employer cover it?

In the US, employer-sponsored professional development is often tax-free under IRS Section 127 (up to $5,250/year). Ask the provider for a company invoice and a ready-to-send justification email.
